Bilingual learning Daycare
Our Staff
Our team is made of two staff members, including our licensed provider Maria who is onsite full-time. Anaelena helps with administration and the enrollment process, along with program activities. Maria is our main caregiver and daycare owner. She has been licensed for over 26 years through Alameda County. Anaelena creates our monthly activity calendar and plans weekly preschool curriculum. All caregivers are CPR and First Aid Certified, and background checked and cleared. Some changes have been made during the pandemic to accommodate and follow the latest Covid safety protocols.

Maria has cared for many children over the years. She has been married for over 35 years, and along with her husband they've raised three of their own.
All three attended and graduated from Hayward High school. Their oldest earned a B.S. in Audio Engineering from a private college. Their second attended CSU East Bay and earned her Master's in Social Work and their youngest attended UC Berkeley and received a B.S. in Statistics.
Maria knows how difficult it can be to raise children, and with a lot of love and patience she can help be a nurturing caregiver to yours.

Anaelena Martinez
Anaelena began her career and love for children as a camp counselor for The City of San Leandro's Recreational Department. She moved on to teaching Spanish and assisting in a Kindergarten classroom for Camelot Elementary, a Private School in Castro Valley.
She earned her B.A. in Human Development with a focus on Early Child Development from CSU East Bay. Anaelena is also a mother of two girls. Due to the pandemic, and health concerns for her youngest, Anaelena is working remotely. She continues to create weekly curriculum and plans for staff to carry out daily. She is still very much a part of the daycare.
How They Met...
Las Abejitas-Little Bees is a family run business. Maria and Anaelena are a mother and daughter in-law team, that have been working together for over 14 years and have known each other for over 16 years.
In early 2009, while working towards her degree at CSUEB, Anaelena received an offer from Maria to work at Las Abejitas- Little Bees, which she gladly accepted. They are constantly working towards improving and finding better ways to teach while providing the most nurturing place for every little bee that attends their daycare.
